
Thredbo
Thredbo is a village and ski resort in the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales, Australia, situated in a part of the Snowy Monaro Regional Council, and has been operated by Event Hospitality and Entertainment since 1987. It is about 500 kilometres south of Sydney, accessible by the Alpine Way via Cooma, Berridale, and Jindabyne. The village is built in the valley of the Thredbo River, also known as the Crackenback River, at the foot of the Ramshead Range.

Mt Kosciuszko Hike

Tick off the ultimate bucket list item this summer, the Mt Kosciuszko Summit Hike. Australia’s highest peak at 2,228m offers incredible views from the top of Australia.
The hike is 13km and takes roughly 4-6 hours for the round trip, with an abundance of stunning sights to take in along the way.
From the top of the Kosciuszko Express Chairlift you walk along an elevated walking track which preserves the natural alpine flora and is easy for all ages and abilities.

Mountain Biking
Thredbo Mountain Bike Park is Australia’s premier biking destination with the only lift accessed gravity trails in the country.
This summer, the MTB Park will continue to expand with new trails, progressive jump & skill parks and new clinics and programs for all ages. The mix of trails feature something for first timers, right through to the professional racers. There’s lots to love about riding the Thredbo Mountain Bike Park.
We’re stoked to launch our new trail Sidewinder, Thredbo MTB School, Merritts Gondola bike access, the return of the iconic Cannonball MTB Festival and more.

Weather in the Mountains & What to Pack
Located in the heart of Australia’s highest mountains, Thredbo’s weather is changeable and all lifts are weather dependent. We recommend dressing for all weather conditions when riding Thredbo’s lifts.

Gondola & Chairlift
Whether you’re hiking, mountain biking or soaking up the stunning mountain views, riding Thredbo’s lifts are a must do in summer.
New this summer, Merritts Gondola is open for scenic rides Friday – Sunday, as well as school holidays! Ride to the Crusier area for mountain views and tasty dining at Merritts Mountain House. Take the Kosciuszko Express Chairlift to the top for amazing alpine vistas, Eagles Nest Restaurant and the start of Thredbo’s alpine hiking tracks including the walkway to Mt Kosciuszko Summit.
Prefer pedaling to walking? Fitted with bike racks, the Merritts Gondola, the Kosciuszko Express and Gunbarrel Express chairlifts take you to the top of Thredbo Mountain Bike Park with over 35kms of adrenaline fueled trails.

Kosciuszko Express Chairlift | Scenic & MTB
Open Daily
The Kosciuszko Express takes 15 minutes one way and rises 560 vertical metres, offering breath taking alpine views down the Thredbo Valley. At the top treat yourself to breakfast or lunch at Eagles Nest, Australia’s highest restaurant.
The Kosciuszko Express is the easiest way to access Thredbo’s extensive alpine hiking tracks, including the walkway to Mt Kosciuszko Summit, and some of Thredbo’s best intermediate to advanced mountain bike trails.
Please Note: Kosciuszko Express Chairlift is currently closed for annual servicing and reopens 6 November. Snowgums Chairlift is open for scenic rides from 11 October – 5 November.

Merritts Gondola | Scenic & MTB
Open Friday – Sunday & School Holidays from Nov 20
New this summer, your Scenic and MTB Lift Pass for Fridays – Sundays as well as school holiday periods includes Merritts Gondola access! Ride to the base of the Cruiser area in the European style Gondola cabins for mountain views and sun soaked drinks and dining on the Merritts Mountain House deck.
Fitted with bike racks, the Merritts Gondola also takes mountain bikers to the start of the new entry-level gravity flow trail Sidewinder.

Gunbarrel Express Chairlift | MTB Only
Open Daily from Nov 20
The Gunbarrel Express Chairlift takes you and your bike to some of the best alpine riding in the country.
From the top of Gunbarrel Express ride green trail Centre Link and the flowing berms of intermediate gravity trail Ricochet, or take the Lower All-Mountain trail to the Cruiser area and try out the roller coaster fun of new trail Sidewinder. Check out the Mountain Bike Park map here.

Alpine Bobsled
Enjoy the family friendly 700m Alpine Bobsled track as it twists and turns its way down the mountain whilst you control the speed with a brake on your sled. Thredbo’s Alpine Bobsled track is located just a short distance from Valley Terminal along the Merritts Nature Track.
To ride the Alpine Bobsled on your own you must be 9 years of age or older and over 130cms tall. For the kids under 9 you double up with a responsible adult.

Golf
THREDBO GOLF CLUB
Play a round of golf on Australia’s highest golf course.
Thredbo’s 9 hole course runs alongside the Thredbo River and around the base of the mountain, offering outstanding playing conditions and beautiful views. Dotted with wildflowers and lined with eucalyptus, it has a little bit of everything, providing even seasoned golfers with unique challenges such as the Snake Pit and Wally Wombat’s House.
The course is home to 1 x Par 5 holes, 4 x Par 4 holes and 4 x Par 3 holes.
The Thredbo Golf Club regularly holds competitions – All players are welcome

Tennis
Thredbo has two tennis courts available for a fun game with family or friends during your summer stay in Thredbo.

Fly Fishing
The pristine Thredbo River is home to some of the wildest trout in Australia. Enjoy the clarity and peace Thredbo offers as you cast a line and fish amongst the beauty of the Snowy Mountains. The fly fishing season on the Thredbo River and its tributaries is open from the October Long Weekend until the June Long Weekend.

Terrain Parks
We pride ourselves on our ability to cater for all levels of skiers and boarders out there. From first timers to the advanced there’s something for every shredder to enjoy, progress and push the limits.
We offer jumps of all sizes, hips, spines and more, which are all regular snow-features you can expect to see frequenting our parks. As well as those, we boast an extensive, ever-growing fleet of box and rail features.

Skiing & Snowboarding
Thredbo offers the best skiing and snowboarding in Australia. The mountain is perfect for all ages and ability. Beginners will love the purpose built area designed to progress skills in a safe environment. Intermediates can enjoy Australia’s longest runs and the wide variety of terrain on offer. The Advanced will find endless on and off piste challenges, powder bowls and natural features.

Merritts Gondola is a high speed, eight person Gondola that takes skiers, snowboarders and scenic passengers from the Village to the base of the Cruiser Area in approximately 6 minutes. This winter, ride the Gondola to the top for incredible mountain views and tasty dining at Merritts Mountain House.

Scenic Lift Pass

Merritts Mountain Haus Feast & Snowcat Experience
Take Saturday night to a whole new level by adding a Snowcat Tour ahead of the Merritts Mountain Haus Feast to watch the iconic Thredbo Flare Run and Fireworks Show from the Kareela deck! Guests are transported via the Merritts Gondola to Merritts Mountain House where Thredbo’s passenger snowcat is awaiting. Guests then enjoy a snowcat tour across the mountain to Kareela Hutte to watch the iconic Saturday Fireworks Spectacular and Flare Run…with a glass of G.H. Mumm in hand. The snowcat will deliver guests back to Merritts Mountain House in time for the Bavarian-inspired feast.
